We Willow Moon, are a high-end luxury bridal boutique bringing the most luxurious bridal designs by internationally renowned fashion designers to the stars such as Oscar de la Renta, Monique Lhuillier, Pepe Botella, Badgley Mischka and Peter Langner. At Willow Moon it is our goal to bring haute couture style and individuality to the forefront of bridal fashion. When a bride chooses to visit us, she can expect to have a private 2 hour appointment, where we will work closely with the bride-to-be and try to establish an overall feel for her character, find out what her interests are, what her fashion influences are and what qualities are important to her on her wedding day. From this, the bride to be will make a make a selection of dresses that she wishes to try and take time to reflect on her choices in the boutiques luxurious and spacious surroundings. During her appointment we will be able to advise and make recommendations for the bride, so she gets the most out of her appointment.
Do brides usually have an idea of the type of dress they’re looking for when they come to the boutique?
At Willow Moon we have brides visiting us at all different stages in their search for their wedding gown, from first appointments who are new to the bridal experience and have yet to establish their likes and dislikes, right through to appointments where the bride has visited several bridal boutiques and is very specific in her gown preferences. All of our designers have been selected for their quality, craftsmanship and superior design, all of which have uniqueness and individuality to their dresses whether it be in the style, cut, structure or fabric. We want to give our customers the same opportunities to find their dream dress that other brides have who live in the likes of Paris, London, Milan or New York and make it available to them on their doorstep. Whatever the bride’s individual style preference, each of the designer collections we stock here most certainly will not disappoint.
What advice would you give to brides when it comes to choosing their wedding dress?
We would advise brides to take time to reflect on what type of bride they would like to be and consider what messages they want to communicate on their special day; for example are they traditional, romantic, fashion forward, modern or vintage, are they more reserved or do they want to make a statement? Also we would recommend if there is a particular theme for their wedding or a specific location, for the bride to take this into account which can help establish a general feel for the day, the atmosphere and an overall holistic view of the e vents taking place and we find this often this helps in the dress selection process.
Have you had any brides who have chosen dresses that are the complete opposite of the traditional wedding gown? (Something alternative!
We have a wide variation of brides that visit us at Willow Moon, and again gown selection always depends on the brides own personal styling. The selections of designers we carry cater for a wide variety of fashion influences and designs, which not only necessitate for a variety of interests but also promote individuality and a uniqueness which is personal to the bride. We do however often find that brides are perhaps drawn to a particular style of gown if they are having a location of the wedding or depending on the time of year.
You’ve recently started to carry the Monique L’Huillier Dress Collection, tell us about the gowns and have they been popular with brides?
Monique Lhuillier is an extremely popular designer with brides and we believe this is as a result of her feminine styling, exquisite fabrics, luxurious detailing. Monique is highly regarded in the fashion world for her lace bridal collections as well as her two piece collections, which have proven extremely popular with celebrities such as Mrs Robbie Williams, Reece Witherspoon, Carrie Underwood, and Irish model Pippa O’connor. We have also seen an increase in the number of brides who are interested in wearing lace on their wedding day, as a result of the Royal wedding and Monique has some outstanding lace designs in her collection. We also have new and exclusive this autumn to Willow Moon the Monique Lhuillier ‘Bliss’ Collection. This collection is reflective of new and emerging trends, designs and fabrics, which include a stunning array of gowns which echo the femininity and sophistication of leading Monique collections at a more affordable price range. The ultimate choice for the bride who wants to feel fabulous, confident and chic!
You have exclusivity to certain dress collections in Ireland, tell us more
Yes, we are extremely privileged to have exclusivity of the designer we carry, to stock these luxurious and unique bridal collections from the world’s most acclaimed designers exclusive to the Irish Market. We are also the sole stockist of Oscar de la Renta throughout the UK. These exceptional designers will be launching their Spring 2012 bridal collections this autumn at Willow Moon and we are delighted that we can provide brides with the opportunity to have the opulence and sophistication of these collections, without having to travel extensively to find it.
What are the current trends when it comes to accessorizing the dress? (Coloured shoes, statement jewellery etc)
We believe there is no one general rule when it comes to a bride accessorizing their wedding dress. Accessorizing your wedding dress is once again all about own personal preference and allows the bride to be creative and customise this to best reflect her personality and individuality. However, we always advise that accessories should keeping in theme of the dress cut; style and colour in order to complement the wedding dress not detract from it. In store we stock some stunning accessories form the ‘PARIS’ collection, as well as a selection of some fabulous bridal shoes by Gina Shoes and Oscar de la Renta. One notable common trend with designers for example Oscar de la Renta and Monique Lhuillier and increasingly popular with brides is accessorising the dress with belts and broaches. This added extra not only defines the waist but can also add embellishment for those brides who like that extra bit of glitz and glam.
